District 2 Contest FAQs
GENERAL FAQ
In what format are 2025-2026 speech contests taking place?
All Area, Division, and District Contests will be in-person only. All contestants and contest officials must be in person.
Which Speech Contests will be taking place in early 2026?
International Speech and Humorous Speech. Only the International Speech Contest goes beyond the District level, culminating in the World Championship of Public Speaking at the Toastmasters International Convention in August 2026.
Will audience members have the option of viewing the speech contests online?
That will be at the discretion of each contest chair (organizer). If there is the option to attend online, the contest chair will make the details available. A reminder, no contestant or contest official may participate online, only audience members.
Can people who are not Toastmasters members attend a speech contest?
Yes. Invite your family and friends. Invite your co-workers.
Is there a charge to attend the contests?
Contestants at any level may not be charged to compete. Area and Division contests are typically at no charge to audience members and contest officials. The District Contests are included with the attendance fees for the District Conference. Audience members and contest officials who will be present only for the District Contests will need to inquire with the Conference Committee for their options.
