Leaders in the Wild: Dennis Armstrong

May 4, 2026

As a reminder, our "Leaders in the Wild" initiative is all about shining a spotlight on those who lead from wherever they are. While we often recognize formal titles, this campaign celebrates the consistent, impactful actions that happen in the "wild"—the everyday moments where members step up, support others, and drive our Toastmasters community forward without needing a podium to do so.

“If it is to be, it is up to me.” “If not me, then who? And if not now, then when?”

Dennis Armstrong lives by these powerful mottos, embodying a sense of personal responsibility and urgency that makes him a standout leader and a true asset to our District 2 community. With over four decades of dedicated service, he represents the spirit of a "leader in the wild" through his tireless commitment to the growth and retention of others.

A Toastmaster since 1978, Dennis continues to seek innovative ways to mentor and coach members, specifically bridging the gap between personalized support and the Pathways program to ensure no one is left behind. His leadership is defined by a deep-seated passion for building welcoming, enthusiastic club cultures and a drive for continuous improvement.

Thank you, Dennis, for your decades of world-class fellowship and your unwavering dedication to our community. Congratulations on being our newest Leader in the Wild!

Anu Jokinen

District Director, 2025-2026
